Palo Santo

 Palo Santo or ‘Holy Wood’ is a rare and unique oil from Ecuador. It is highly regarded in the spiritual realm by the indigenous Shamans who use the burning wood to release negative energies from their bodies. It has an ancient history, long been worshipped for its purifying and healing powers. The oil has an uplifting, calming effect and is recognized today or its vast therapeutic properties, which include its ability to strengthen vitality, purify space and an aid in protection both physically and spiritually. The Palo Santo oil is mainly concentrated in heart of the tree trunk and can take up to 10 years to produce enough oil concentration in their trunk. The average life of the tree of Palo Santo is between 80 and 90 years. Only trees that have fallen naturally to the ground are used to make this oil. For this reason, it is very important that the Palo Santo used has been ethically harvested from sustainable sources.

The aroma of Palo Santo is very intense and instantly recognizable. It can be used as perfume to release negative energy and to purify and cleanse the spirit on its own in a traditional 33% dilution or blended with other oils or with gem elixirs to create unique “spiritual perfume” blends. Use this precious oil sparingly and properly diluted as its aroma can be over-the-top intense and can easily be over powering in a blend. Palo Santo also makes a very effective mosquito repellent!
