Cypriol (Nagarmotha)

Cypriol or the commonly used Hindi name Nagarmotha, has a very long history in both Ayuervedic healing traditions and in Traditional Chinese Medicine where it is highly regarded as the primary qi (prana or life force) regulating herbal medicine. it is used to treat a wide range of conditions including liver stagnation, inflammation, bronchial congestion, dysentery, parasites, painful & irregular menses, hypertension, painful joints, fever & even snake bites! It seems the essential oils high in complex sesquiterpenes such as Cypriol have a very wide range of healing potential that we in the west are just now beginning to realize. The oil of Cypriol is calming, grounding and soothing. A great all round tonic. Besides it’s vast healing properties, Cypriol has a very interesting aromatic profile for the perfumer. It’s scent is earthy-woodsy-leathery-herbal-musty & dry. A bit like Vetivert, Oud & Buddha wood all rolled up together with a bit of Cedar. A marvellous base note that is tenacious, mysterious & complex. Love this oil!
