Schizandra Co2

$23.40

I first received a small bottle of this special oil many years ago from a dear friend of mine and I instantly fell in love. I had been familiar with the tincture and various herbal decoctions of Schizandra over the years but nothing compares like the essential oil extract. What a treat!

Schizandra has been used for centuries in TCM where it’s known as wu-wei-zi, which translates to “5 taste fruit” – sour, sweet, bitter, warm, and salty. it is also used in traditional Russian medicine where its described as a tonic, reducing hunger, fatigue, delaying the aging process, increasing vitality, and improving mental health.

Schisandra chinenisis fruit is known as multifunction plant raw material. It has been extensively researched for its unique chemical composition that includes rare lignans and biological activity that have shown to be impressively antioxidant, anti-hepatotoxic, anti-asthmatic and anti-diabetic.

The scent of Schizandra is warm, sweet, subtle and fruity. The taste is a bit like salty-sweet-bitter Mullberry or Goji berries. Deliciously unique without being overpowering. I can imagine blending it with a touch of Rose and Black Pepper or Ginger.

In skin care Schizandra has proven to be a star for it antioxidant and cell-repair properties. I’m thinking some Sea Buckthorn Berry, Calendula and Rose hip seed extract with our lovely Shizandra will make a very fine anti-aging serum. There are so many uses and benefits to this wonderful oil from culinary, cosmetic medicine and perfume. No wonder I’m in love!
